How much does a kitchen remodel cost in DFW?

Cabinetry, counters, appliances, structural changes, plumbing and electrical work, flooring, and finish selections all affect the estimate. Compare what each proposal includes, its allowances and exclusions, and how changes will be priced. How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Separate design and ordering time from the construction period when comparing schedules. Layout decisions, permit review where needed, cabinet and appliance availability, trade sequencing, and site conditions affect when demolition can start and when the kitchen can return to use. Ask for a schedule tied to your selected materials and agreed scope, including what could change it.
Can we live in the home during the kitchen remodel?
That depends on the work and your household. Before deciding, discuss separation from the work zone, access through the house, utility interruptions, ventilation, cleanup, and a temporary place to prepare food. Some phases may require different arrangements. Dust containment does not by itself establish that staying in the home is suitable for everyone.

A more open layout may be possible, but the existing structure and utilities need to be evaluated before a wall is removed. The plan should account for any engineering, supports, permits, utility relocation, and ceiling or floor repairs required for that specific opening.
